This non-profit organization brings together traditional potters and designers for the purpose of collaborating on functional objects that are inspired by tradition, yet adapted to contemporary lifestyles. They strive to function through fair/solidarity trade, and with ecologically sustainable practices. By organizing courses and exchanges that allow potters to develop new skills and knowledge, they are creating opportunities for communities that would otherwise abandon their craft out of an inability to earn sufficient income. On the other side, the collective educates the public on the importance and value of these art forms through publications, exhibitions and other promotional activities. In doing so, they hope to create both a market where artisans can be paid fairly for their work and their heritage will be preserved.
